Upcoming Time Change – Dr Pat’s Corner
The change from Daylight Savings Time to Standard Time is right around the corner. We will set our clocks back on November 3; and will get an extra hour of sleep! Sounds good, but our circadian rhythms, our biological clocks, may not adjust overnight. All God’s creatures thrive on a good daily routine. The secret to a happy baby/toddler is to have a predictable daily routine of mealtime, naptime, bedtime and wake up time. Even one hour can make a difference.
Expect everyone, parents and children to be mildly irritable for 7-10 days after the time change. Keep to the same bedtime routine and morning routine and the irritability will pass.
