Tobacco Free Campus
If you’ve heard of second-hand smoke, then you might know how dangerous it is to your health. What you may not realize, though, is that smoking and second-hand smoke are the single-most common cause of preventable disease. If you or someone you know has been affected by cancer, then you know how difficult it can be for the entire family to cope with the sudden changes.
Our facilities are smoke-free and tobacco-free, inside and outside, because your comfort and health are what we care about the most.
No one should be exposed to something that could lead to conditions like:
- Heart disease
- Emphysema
- Lung cancer
Using tobacco is your choice, but at West Feliciana Hospital, out of our commitment to healing and comfort, we ask that you not expose others to the risks associated with your decision.
No smoking and no tobacco use at any of our tobacco-free facilities:

The American Heart Association says that the link between secondhand smoke (also called environmental tobacco smoke) and disease is well known,& the connection to cardiovascular-related disability and death is also clear.
Each year, about 37,000 to 40,000 people die from heart and blood vessel disease caused by other people’s smoke. Of these, about 35,000 nonsmokers die from coronary heart disease, which includes heart attack.
